like i've told you before, every event i shoot i end up having a muse. i become absorbed by their presence amongst hundreds of other people. yesterday it was a young girl.. big sister to many, loves Elvis very much and wants to be a barrel racer when she grows up. here's some photos of her and her gang, hanging out at the backyard wedding after-dark.

can i tell you about how good it feels to be this free?

everyday it sinks in a little more. i'm done with school. and it feels like gold. silver and gold! don't get me wrong... i have been working a lot a lot! last week i did 35 hours of the barista thing and also a couple of photo shoots. indeed, lots of networking too, on the prowl for the next big thing. this has kept me a busy girl, but nothing, nothing at all, compares to what were the confines of school. there is a new-found liberation to behold here and i'm in love with it. its glistening in the details. mostly, i like having the stamina and the brain space to be captivated by friendships. to have the ambition to wake up earlier than necessary, just to watch the world cup with good friends. and then to stay for lunch, because they do insist, but really because i want to and that focaccia smells incredible. and in the same day, i arrive at the coffeeshop at least two hours before my shift begins... to sit and be merry, because i can, and it's a lovely place to be. i hope some people i know will meet me there. and they do. and their presence in that moment means the world to me. we welcome the free joe and laugh at great silly things and walk down nearby neighborhood streets and then make a picture like the one below. later that night.... okay! i'll join you for sushi! i usually hate sushi, but this time i'll try my best to love it. and i do.
